Exploring Culture through Sports

Exploring Culture and Society through Sports.

Serbian Orthodox High School from Zagreb is looking for partner high schools from Western Europe to develop a youth exchange project in Zagreb, Croatia in the late June/early July 2016. The exact dates are prone to changing and the youth exchange will last eight days plus two travel days. Each partner will participate in the youth exchange with around 10 high school kids (aged 15-18).

The topic will be centred around sports as a means of analyzing culture and society. During the youth exchange the high school kids will look into how sport can be seen as a mirror of societal problems (racism, xenophobia, male superiority etc.) but also how sport can be used to tackle these issues. Through sport and recreation, the participants will explore cultural differences between their countries and their schools.

If you are interested in participating please contact me at ivan@brodoto.hr. Preference will be given to high schools with previous experience in youth exchanges and to partners who wish to form long-term cooperation.
