eXpert by eXperience eXchange - YE for homeless young people

Don Bosco Jonathan is a voluntary organisation inspired by the educational style and life of Don Bosco. The organisation works to bridge the gap that exist between homeless youth and their more mainstream peers. Don Bosco Jonathan works to foster a deeper connection between homeless young people and a network of 45 young volunteers, eager to make a difference. The work begins with educating mainstream youth about the challenges facing homeless youth, while underscoring their shared responsibility to humanity.
We want organise two Youth exchanges:
1. First exchange: 10-16 October 2016 (Land is to be decided)
APV: 1-4 September 2016

2. Second Exchange: 17-22 April 2017 (In Amsterdam, The Netherlands)
APV: 8-11 March 2017 (In Amsterdam, The Netherlands)
This exchange is intended for homeless young people aged 20-27 years and is dedicated to the exchange of experiences. These young people do not get the chance to go on exchange and get acquainted with other countries and cultures. Often these young people are marginalized and do not have enough financial resources to afford to visit other countries and cultures.
With this project we aim to give the opportunity to this specific target group literally broaden their horizons and increase their social, cultural network. They can share their experiences with other young people who are in the same situation. They will learn through this exchange to become aware of the social issues such as solidarity, citizenship, democracy and the values ​​of other European countries. They will give meaning to this project by a preparatory meeting. Through their active participation they learn to develop in the areas of organization, shaping an exchange and intercultural learning is an important priority in this project.

This project brings together 20 young people and four leaders from four different European countries including the Netherlands. All young people aged 20-27 years old and homelessness.
