EVS PROJECT : THINKING GLOBAL, ACTING LOCAL

Our organization:

The “Alberto Pindado” Municipal Youth Centre of Ávila offers different types of free time and leisure activities to the age group between 10 and 36.
Our activities take place in the city of Avila, in the three youth facilities operated by the Youth Council. They can also take place at various schools, universities, municipal facilities and meeting places for the youth of the city. The Youth Council has signed agreements with associations and youth groups to carry projects and promote youth activities, apart from having a hiring room service, audiovisual and leisure equipment and counting with premises for youth associations.
Furthermore we organize workshops, clubs, language exchange programs and coordinate the town’s time bank program.
Annual events: activities and events related to arts, culture and music, furthermore educational activities, shows, competitions and international meetings.
Permanent actions: activities which focus on the inclusion of people with fewer opportunities through activities in which these young people could find the motivation to participate socially, as thematic workshops, exchanges, forums, radio programme, …
Our main objective is to promote the role of art and culture as a tool for inclusion.

The profile of the volunteers :

We are looking for motivated, positive and open-minded volunteers, ready to learn and share new knowledge and skills.
- Young people between 20 and 30 years old

-Very motivated and willing to work with young people

- Promoting and animation youth

-tolerant and positive about the idea of living in another country and in a small city (60.000 inhabitants)

- some knowledge in Spanish language is a plus.

Project description

The project will take place in Ávila (Spain) and most of the activities in our Youth Center Alberto Pindado.
They should be able to work with people between 10 and 36 years old
• Language tandem – language exchange club with the local young people in the native language of the
volunteers.
• Participating in events and projects organizing by the Youth Centre
• Supporting youth initiatives, festivals, cultural and sport events for the young people in Ávila.
• Supporting Erasmus + Projects.
• Propose and organize different activities
•Crafts
• propose their own ideas, which we will consider and help them to carry them out.

Duration of the project

The project will last for 10 months (starting from February/March)

Accommodation, food and travel arrangements
The volunteers will share a rented flat in city of Ávila, and the coordinating organization will provide money for food.
the travel cost will be reimbursed.

Training during the project

- On-arrival training, organized by the hosting organization
- On-arrival training, organized by the National Agency
-Mid-term training, organized by the National Agency
- Spanish lessons.

Now I am preparing the activity agreement,and infopack for the volunteers as soon as possible.
