EVS in North Bohemian Research library

Volunteer will help with common librarian activities like lending and returning books, be in contact with readers, help with preparing new books to lending, putting books back to the shelves etc. He/She will cooperate with different departments of the library.

He/She will cooperate with Czech volunteers and take part in English Club. In is a open group of people that regurarely meet (each Thursday afternoon) in library and talk about chosen topic in English. Volunteer will responsible for preparing the room and cooperate with choosing the topics and take part in meetings.

Then there are two lines of activities in which volunteers can participate. They can be combined.

The first line focuses on children and teenagers and is connected mostly with the Children's Library.
Volunteer will help there with their activities for children. He/She can make some workshops or presentation about home country, literature or any other topic he/she is interested in.

The second line will be more about presenting home country to the public. It should be a series of presentations or talks. In our library there is a tradition of presentations about travelling, so volunteers can present their culture and home country through
interesting places. They can also prepare an exhibition about their home country or literature.

Volunteer will also attend Czech language classes if he/she will be interested.

We give volunteers an opportunity to show their creativity, to improve their presentation and
communication skills as well as computer and information literacy. We also offer an opportunity to work in a team. At last but not least volunteer will have an opportunity to learn more about library environment and activities.
