WHAT?

Our project expects to get the following objectives:

1. Train young people to the labor market
2. Improve their professional and personal competences and skills
3. Promote their self-esteem
4. Foster an inclusion in a new environment
5. Improve the Spanish language
6. Increase their autonomy to get on well in different contexts

HOW?

The volunteer will have learning opportunities related to : personal autonomy improvement, knowledge of organizational self-skills, the youth work at national and international level, intercultural learning, participation in different European projects, basic knowledge about the new language (Spanish), improvement of social and personal skills, knowledge of the new culture, awareness about European citizenship and improvement of digital competences.

WHERE?

The EVS project requested by Europa 2020 would take place in Puente Genil, city located at South of Cordoba, in the center of Andalusia, adjoining with Sevilla and Málaga. With a population of 31.473 inhabitants and an extension of 169,5 km2.

Regarding socioeconomic situation, Puente Genil has food and agriculture industries (olive oil, industrial bakery, fruit industry, tinned food and, specially, quince and wine).

Puente Genil has an interesting architecture, especially religious buildings. However, the most relevant architectural work, due to its meaning and symbolism, is the bridge over Genil river.

Very near of Puente Genil it is the Roman villa of Fuente Alamo. Its mosaics are a unique sample in whole Roman Empire.
Besides, Puente Genil has a large shopping and business area and leisure venues,restaurants, cinema, sportive activities, library, theatre, dance academies and different activities organized by youth organizations and others.

It provides the opportunity of outdoor activities such as hiking routes and touring by bicycle. Thanks to it, one can enjoy natural landscape, fauna and flora of our mountains, rivers and lakes.

For all of these reasons, we can consider Puente Genil a town rich in heritage, nature and activities, moreover, it is a town where everyone is welcome and well accepted by the community.

VOLUNTEER TASKS

- Information: the volunteer will provide information to other young who need to know about international mobility, mainly regarding Erasmus +.

- Participation in activities: the volunteer will take part in the preparation and organization of activities during youth exchange, training courses and international and national projects. For this reason, he/she will prepare energizers and other group dynamics. As well as he/she will participate in the organization of other activities of our annual program such as youth meetings, awareness campaign in different areas, leisure activities in general and any activity related to young.

- International activities: the volunteer will be involved in international initiatives and he/she will help with the preparation and organization of activities within the program Erasmus +.

- Creative activities: they will be linked with the Youth Creation Space of the local government of Puente Genil. In this space art, music, dance, leisure activities will take place.

- Training: as organization one of our objectives is to spread out the voice regarding opportunities that every citizen has in the EU within European projects and to create European awareness in the citizens. We organize informative sessions about these topics along the year. Youth associations and young groups are valuable participants. Therefore, to count with a European volunteer would provide personal perspective and experience on these issues.

- Speaking rooms: the volunteer will have the opportunity to get involved with the new community and share with other young. This activity will provide a space of experience exchanges and debates on any topic of their interest. English will be the channel of communication, therefore, enriching both reciprocally.

- Experiences Exchange: workshops build sharing opportunities for the volunteer to introduce his/her culture, gastronomy, experience and customs to the rest of community with the objective of integrating and adapting the volunteers within an intercultural growth and enrichment.

- Social networks updating: the volunteer will support uploading audiovisual material to the social networks and to the association website with the objective of promoting the visibility of all activities that are carried out.

Young people who …
- are between age 18 to 30 when his /her SVE starts.
- Show interest in working with international youth work through non formal education, organizing activities and events, managing and participating in European projects.
- Show interest in learning Spanish culture and exchanging experiences with the community.
- We will value if the volunteer has knowledge of Spanish and English language.
- We will value if the volunteer has social skills, capacity for empathy and flexibility to adapt to different environments.
- The volunteer should be available in the dates of the project.
