EVS BREAKTHROUGH IN THE PROVINCE OF JAÉN

During these last years, we have been able to investigate much about the needs, fears and worries of our young people. Little by little and with great effort we have been able to reach that part of the young population that lives on the edge, which does not arise and has never thought to be able to leave even its own village.
In the province of Jaén there are very high unemployment and drop-out from school levels. Many young people find themselves unable to cross the confort zone because they do not have knowledge, experience and because they believe they are unable to go outside and manage to live in another place, city or country.
We have seen how participation in mobility projects, especially in EVS, can empower young people, improving their skills, competencies and last but not least, their employability.

The project aims are:
- sensitize young people with exclusion profiles about the mobility opportunities offered by the Erasmus + program;
- encourage their participation in such projects;
- overcome the fear of leaving the comfort zone;
- networking with workers dealing with young people with fewer opportunities;
- raising the awareness of young people about the concept and feeling of European citizenship and the rights of Europeans;
- to provide volunteers with a multi and intercultural learning experience;
- fight against youth unemployment in our territory through training in competitions.

Volunteers will learn:
- learn non-formal education methods and techniques to work with young people between the ages of 13 and 30.
- improve their knowledge of the European Union as well as its institutions and the rights of European citizens.
- learn about the opportunities offered by the Erasmus + program to young people.
- develop participatory leadership skills.
- will learn to analyze and define communication strategies with activities directly linked to the project objectives.
- will explore linguistic tools and uses of Spanish and English mainly but also of other languages ​​including their own.
- they will learn tools for social communication at institutional level.
- learn to work with young people with fewer opportunities.
- they will know the entities of Jaén that work with young people with fewer opportunities and can make comparisons with the entities of their own countries.
- improve their skills in youth work.
- will discover and use strategic tools for the dissemination and exploitation of Erasmus + results (DEOR)
- learn to cooperate and coexist in a multicultural way of life.
- learn to solve personal and cultural problems through mediation.
- learn and create a work environment based on equal opportunities, gender equality, respect for diversity and environmental commitment.
- They will develop strategic and long-term thinking through the planning and execution of their personal projects and EVS activities.
- They will become more self-sufficient, socially committed peopl and exemplary citizens of their environment.

We are looking for 3 volunteer aged 18-30. Preference will be given to applicants with fewer opportunities (social, geographical, education, economic obstacles).
