Project will take place in Tallinn (Estonia) in June 2014. Youngsters will increase awareness about active participation in the political life of Europe.
Participants will study, discuss and analyze a variety of topics related to improving awareness of young people in political matters and the desire of citizens to participate actively in the political life of their country. The most important of them are:
- The benefits of citizenship in different countries and human rights;
- Parliament as a legislative body, its main function and role in the modern model of governance;
- Theme nights to introduce participants to the features of the legislative branch of countries with different forms of government;
- Ideal state or country in dreams;
- Voting-way participation in the political life of the country and Europe;
- Youth Parliament and local politicians about important topics and trends;
- Why majority of young people should participate in the elections;
- How to promote the idea of engaging young people and citizens in general to political activity;
- Active citizens of the European Union, a strong Europe and confidence in the future.
And many other important issues about involving citizens in policy in a more detailed examination.
Partners: Estonia + 4 organizations based in Programme countries.
Teams: 8 young people + 1 group leader per partner; please try to ensure gender balance.
Profile of the participants: young people aged 18-30, interested in active citizenship.
