European Union Projects and Local Networks to Increase Youth Participation in Local Governments
Project Purpose:
To establish a local network to increase youth participation in local governments, to ensure youth inclusion in EU projects, to strengthen local governments' participation in youth policies.

Target Audience:
• Local government representatives working in the field of youth in local governments
• Young people (18-30 years old)
• Youth leaders and youth organizations
• Local public administrators encouraging youth participation in local government decisions

Partners:
• Turkey (Coordinator): Coordination and project management of local governments on youth participation.

• Partner1: Developing training programs and cooperation with local governments for young people to take an active role in EU projects.

• Partner2: Strengthening local government policies for youth participation.

• Partner3: Creating digital tools and educational resources for young people to take a more active part in EU projects.
Activities:
1. Youth Participation Needs Analysis and Local Network Establishment (6 Months):
o Youth policies in local governments and the level of participation of young people in decision-making processes will be analyzed.

o A local network will be established to increase the participation of young people in decision-making processes in local governments.

o Cooperation will be established with local governments to encourage young people to take part in EU projects.

2. Training Modules and Seminars for Youth Participation (9 Months):
o Training will be provided for young people on participation in local governments, project writing, EU funds, the functioning of local governments and youth policies.

o Seminars to be held together with youth leaders and local governments will encourage young people to take an active role in local governments.

o Awareness-raising and skill-building workshops will be organized on EU projects.

3. Practical Workshops for the Participation of Young People in Decision-Making Processes in Local Governments (6 Months):
o Opportunities for young people to participate in decision-making processes in local governments will be provided.

o The inclusion of young people in project design and management processes in local governments will be ensured.
o In the workshops, project development simulations will be conducted for young people to contribute to local government projects.

4. Promotion and Dissemination of Local and International Youth Networks (3 Months):
o Awareness-raising events will be organized regarding the participation of young people in local governments.

o International networks will be established so that young people can take a more active part in EU projects and decision-making processes in local governments.

o Platforms and digital tools will be developed where young people can collaborate with local governments.

Project Results:
• The participation rate of young people in decision-making processes of local governments will be increased.

• Young people will be included in project development and management processes in local governments.

• Youth policies of local governments will be strengthened and young people will be encouraged to take part in EU projects.

• A sustainable local network will be established for young people and cooperation processes with local governments will be improved.
