European Stadium Security

Our project will promote education in and through sport with special focus on skills development in the domain of stadium security.

The problem identified by the members of our consortium is the lack of security on the stadiums in Europe in general, with no national standard for the training of Stewards in crowd control and spectator safety or, indeed, any legislative requirement that clubs should provide such training for Stewards.
In the context of 2020 UEFA European Football Championship the specific objectives of our project are:
1. Promoting the concepts of Stadium Security in the participant countries and beyond, during the entire period of the project.
2. Development of skills and competences of 24 members of the consortium in Steward Security Qualification during the entire period of the project.
3. Develop a national standard for the training of Stewards in crowd control and spectator safety in the participant countries.
The main activities of the project will be 2 European Steward Security Network Events that will have the following activities: networking, development of educational and training tools, and exchange of good practices.
The project will involve 24 persons from the participant countries that will develop their skills as trainers of Sport Stewards, and will have an impact on other 20 persons/country that want to be formed in this domain. About 1000 persons will benefit out of this project - project participants, spectators, broad audiences who together will understand the benefits of a national standard for the training of Stewards in crowd control and spectator safety.
Some of the tangible results of our project will be an website that will promote the career of Sport Stewards, a course support that will be authorized in the participant countries if possible during the project – for example as an optional class in the sport universities interested.
We search for partners that have experience in the domain of stadium security.

• 1 Transnational kick-off meeting (Mars/April 2019)
• 1 Training/network meeting - European Steward Security Network Event I
