Europe meets myths and fairytales through the camera eye

"Europe meets myths and fairytales through the camera eye" will offer informal education on European traditional culture, exploiting new media technologies.

The chosen theme for our project will be "Europe meets myths and fairytales through the camera eye". The main goal of our project is to offer informal education on the traditions of the countries of Europe, a Europe which unites civilizations without erasing their different identities and at the same time reinforcing European citizenship.
Studying and working on common fairytales and legends, which leave their marks in the early sensitive ages and forms common experiences and ideas, constitutes as a powerful tool for mutual understanding and acceptance of diversity.
The youngsters will participate in reading and drama workshops where they will be invited to bring various fairytales to life on the big screen with the use of new medias and technologies. The activities will unfold in a traditional forest shelter and will be concluded with the organisation of a local festival where the habitants of the community will be involved.
Also, staying at a traditional resort in the middle of the forest will reinforce the environmental sensibility of the youngsters participating.
Finally, the activities will be accompanied by an historical and cultural visit in Athens where the European civilization was born.
