EU Doctor Smile

“Eu Doctor Smile” is a Seminary addressed to youth workers and animators in hospitals over 18 years old, who have the power to utilize their gained knowledge and skills in their local community motivating, informing, sensitizing and, above all, empowering young people that make clinic animation activities.

The overall project’s aim is to create a network of European cooperation in clinic animation for children, youth and adults. While the specific objectives are:

• To make in contact European associations that realize clinic animation activities
• To discover new methodologies for clinic animation
• To exchange good practice in clinic animation
• To increase the quality of clinic animation in Europe

The indirect object is: to create a space and time for animators to explore and experience different aspects of intercultural dimension of clinic animation.

In order to archive our aims, 24 people (14 foreigners from…….., plus 10 local animators coming from Spain) will participate to this 5 days contact seminary, that will take place in Ciudad Real ( Spain) from 26-30 September 2016 in Ciudad Real General Hospital ( all the main activities), Gasset park (the final event ) and a visit to Toledo.

The mains activities will be:

• Knowing activities between the associations and their work's methods
• Debates with doctors and nurses to improve the cooperation between them and the animators
• Team working to create sensitization strategies about rights of hospitalized people
• Workshop about illness prevention and how to animate the ill person
• Seminary's evaluation and Youthpass writing

Before, while and after the seminary, together with our partners, we will realize an important dissemination work, in a way to sensitize the locals communities about ills rights and diseases prevention.

We are sure the project will have a big impact to the local, national and international level, not just because we will disseminate the project's materials and results, but above all, because thanks to the implementation this project more people will know clinic animation and they will join or create new associations working on this subject.
