PROJECT NAME
Erasmus+ Mentorship Club for Young Women - encourage young women to take control of their career
GOAL
We want to empower young women (unemployed or disadvantaged in any other way), ages up to 35., to take responsibility for their career, by engaging in business world.
THE MAIN IDEA of PROJECT
Mentorship Club is a program with the goal is to connect young women that are looking for guidance into the business world with more experienced business women able to provide said guidance. Typically, Mentor-mentee relationships involve pairing of younger persons with more experienced ones, where mentors encourage mentees to take responsibility for their own personal development and career.
The main idea of the project is to empower young women (unemployed or disadvantaged in any other way), ages up to 35., to actively engage in the business world in some of the most influential areas, through the creation of local mentorship clubs.
Our project is offering young women an opportunity to use mentors from Mentorship Club for job shadowing and to exchange good practice, acquire skills and knowledge and/or to build long-term partnerships through participative observation.
With the main focus being on the talent discovery, building capacity, skills and maintaining a two-way learning process
By the end of this project each partner organization will be capable of creating and sustaining a mentorship club for young women within their local community.
This project will include following topics:
Relationship building and empowerment
Mentee goal assessment and prioritising
Time management
Planning techniques
Personal capacity building
Professional skills development
Interactive knowledge transfer
Main activities of this ERASMUS+ long-term project are:
Local research related to the topic in all of the partner organization countries. – 60 days
Each partner will analyze the situation on local level related to the unemployment status of young women , ages up to 35. Results will be acquired from comparing data gained from the institutions and the public research. With this we will get the image of the real situation that the young women from our target group are facing with.
Also, they will target potential mentors, taking into consideration female professionals in several significant areas.
The results of the research will be presented on our next activity.
Contact making event – 8 days
This activity will be held in one of the program countries.
The aim of this activity is for partners to get to know each other better.
Presenting and comparing results of the research.
Presenting and discussing potential mentor candidates for each partner country.
Evaluate the real unemployment situation in each country.
Collaborating on new ideas for future projects and developing the partnership further.
The summary of the analysis and the discussion will produce targeted activities for the training sessions.
Training course – 9 days, Novi Sad, Serbia
During these 9 days the participants will, through non-formal education, be introduced to different topics related to mentorship programme and the general mentoring concept. The events will consist of different workshops where the participants will learn important tips and tricks on creating and sustaining a successful local mentorship club for young women (unemployed or disadvantaged in any other way), ages up to 35.
By the end of this project each partner organization will be capable of creating and sustaining a mentorship club for young women within their local community.
Applying acquired skills locally by creating the mentorship clubs – 60 days
After training course participants from each organization (youth workers/ youth leaders) will create local mentorship clubs by contacting at least 5 female professionals in significant areas, who will be mentors to at least 2 young women from our target group, for job shadowing and other activities that will help them exchange good practice, acquire skills and knowledge and/or to build long-term partnerships through participative observation.
