Entrypreneurship Academy

The idea for Entrypreneurship Academy came to us when we noticed the bounty of creative youth who were at a loss for direction and support from their environment. Our local goal is to conduct weekly face-to-face activities with our participants to develop their entrepreneurial skills; our transnational goal is to start an online movement to share know-how and build partnerships for entrepreneurial youth.

Our target groups are youth from the age of 16-30 who:
- Have an idea for a business (especially social enterprises and responsible businesses)
- Wish to make a living as artists
- Have an idea for a social initiative
- Come from a disadvantaged/unfortunate background and need basic financial literacy and communication skills
- Have already started/inherited a business/initiative and wish to develop their skills and make new connections

We've based the curriculum we've designed entirely on EntreComp: The Entrepreneurship Competence Framework developed by the EU to define entrepreneurship's place as one of the eight key competencies necessary for a knowledge-based society. Although we used EntreComp as the foundation of our curriculum, we've taken considerable creative liberty when we addressed the individual skills that constitute it. Hence we've decided to tackle topics like financial literacy through behavioural economics, deal-making and leadership through active listening and empathic connection and stage presence through practices from improv theatre. We're thus confident in our ability to deliver a holistic, person-based approach to entrepreneurial competencies and we aim to promote them to the goal of enriching our participant's learning as a person as opposed to bloating entrepreneurship as a magic pill towards solving poverty and unhappiness.

Finally, what we look for in our partners:
- We want you to tackle the issue of empowering entrepreneurial youth in your unique way. As long as we're on the same topic and work towards the same transnational goal, you may have full creative freedom.
- We expect you to take the utmost responsibility in executing the tasks you propose to take on. Our informal youth group is small; this being a multiple-month project, we will need to exercise discipline to see it through.
