Discover entrepreneurship, design and innovation through Italian companies, local excellence and immersive experiences in Rome, Tuscany and Sicily.
"Ducale Marmi" is developing a new international learning concept connecting entrepreneurship, design, innovation and Made in Italy through immersive experiences in three different contexts: Rome, Tuscany and Sicily.
The project aims to create tailored learning programmes for European organisations interested in discovering how Italian companies, professionals and local communities combine traditional know-how, creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation.
Rather than offering conventional study visits, we want participants to experience companies, production environments, territories and professional communities directly, combining company visits, workshops, meetings with entrepreneurs and professionals, non-formal learning activities and cultural experiences.
1) In Sicily, activities can focus on the marble district of Custonaci and the wider Trapani area. Participants can explore natural stone, quarrying and processing, design, entrepreneurship, internationalisation, sustainability and the relationship between industry, landscape and local development. Marble becomes a starting point for understanding how a traditional sector can evolve through design, innovation and new business models.
2) In Tuscany, learning programmes can connect entrepreneurship with sustainability, wellbeing, hospitality, food and wine, craftsmanship, territorial development and the promotion of local excellence. Activities can be organised in Florence, Chianciano Terme and surrounding areas through cooperation with local organisations, companies and professionals.
3) Rome provides a complementary cultural and professional dimension. Participants can explore the relationship between Italian materials, architecture, design and cultural heritage, including the historical use of marble and natural stone and their transformation from traditional materials into contemporary expressions of design and Made in Italy.
The three destinations can be combined into customised mobility programmes or developed separately according to the objectives, duration and profile of each participating group.
We are particularly interested in cooperating with VET schools, training centres, universities, companies, NGOs and other European organisations working in the fields of entrepreneurship, vocational education, design, craftsmanship, sustainability, innovation, architecture, cultural heritage and local development.
We are open to Job Shadowing, study visits, staff mobility, training activities and the development of new Erasmus+ partnerships.
Our objective is to build long-term European cooperation around a simple idea: learning from Italian territories by meeting the people, companies and communities that transform local knowledge into entrepreneurship, design and innovation.
