ENTREPRENEURIAL CULTURE AND CULTURAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP

This project aims to focus on the cultural entrepreneurship as solution for youth unemployment and lack of entrepreneurship among youngs

The project starts from a deep analysis of the Italian economic situation especially in Calabria Region where “Futuro Digitale” is located. Calabria is characterized by a high rate of youth unemployment and a growing percentage of NEET. Economic center of the Mediterranean area and home of skilled traders in ancient times, today the Region is characterized by significant social and geographical barriers and by young people who are less keen and motivated towards innovation and entrepreneurship, with insufficient awareness and understanding of other cultures and poor language skills. These social phenomena of youth unemployment and lack of entrepreneurship are not exclusive to Calabrian territory but they are also found in other European countries, sometimes with similar characteristics, other with different interesting peculiarities.
The project aims to address, analyze and contribute to the resolution of those aspects through a Study Visit and a Youth Exchange.
The Study Visit will be divided into three phases, all of them will adopt a holistic approach and will facilitate an active participation of the participants involved in it. The first phase will aim to analyze the actual condition of young entrepreneurship across Europe and with particular focus on the partner countries and the cultural sector. The second part will consist in visiting and examining the cultural business models present on the hosting territory while the third and final phase will consist in exchanging best practices in entrepreneurship education with a special focus for the cultural sector and exploring the tools and opportunities offered by the European Union in this field.
The Youth Exchange instead will be an opportunity for young people to interact, share ideas and collaborate in the creation of new business models in the cultural field. Active participation will allow participants to carry out their analysis, including reflections and comments on the skills acquired during the project activities; participants will be able to develop critical thinking on their sense of initiative and entrepreneurship in order to make them creators and main players of their own future.
