EWA is an Erasmus+ project idea, developing innovative English learning for adults and older people.
English Without Age (EWA) is a project idea that we would like to develop for the next Erasmus+ deadline in the field of Adult Education.
The idea comes from a simple observation: many adults, particularly people aged 45+ and senior citizens, have limited or no knowledge of English. Some studied other foreign languages at school, while others had limited educational opportunities when they were younger. Today, however, English is increasingly present in everyday life, travelling, technology, communication and access to information.
EWA aims to explore an innovative, inclusive and age-friendly approach to English learning, specifically designed around the needs, learning rhythms, experiences and motivations of adult and older learners.
The initial idea is to develop a common European methodology based on non-formal education, practical communication, learning by doing, storytelling, role-playing, peer learning, digital activities and potentially intergenerational learning. The methodology could be jointly developed by the partnership, tested with adult and senior learners in different European countries, evaluated and improved on the basis of the results.
Possible outcomes could include an **EWA Methodology**, a practical **Toolkit for adult educators**, ready-to-use learning activities and local pilot programmes.
At this stage, the project is intentionally open to further development. We are looking for partners who are genuinely interested in the topic and would like to contribute their experience, ideas and expertise to shape the project together.
Our aim is therefore not simply to find organisations to join an already completed proposal, but to create a partnership willing to **discuss, deepen and co-design the project idea** in preparation for the next Erasmus+ deadline.
We would particularly welcome organisations working in adult education, lifelong learning, active ageing, language learning, social inclusion and non-formal education, especially those with direct access to adult and older learners.
