Empower, encourage, engage. (3e)
Youth empowerment is the keys points to a fair and correct democratic society.
The main target of this training is to enhance social skills, to challenge critical thinking and strengthen decision making of the European citizen of tomorrow.
This project will approach the needs of Youth self empowerment and self development
- By raising awareness on the issues (pros and cons) on to the growth and the power of the Digital information and tools - CONNECT knowledgeably
- By challenging to think critically, making informed choices and broad-minded actions (Think outside the box) – enPOWERment
- By promoting a sense of belonging, connection, on a community and on an European level – ENGAGE
The issues and needs addresses in this project:
- The treatment and approach of digital information and digital behavior: we assume that because the today’s youth are born in the digital area they understand it and control it. Unfortunately that is not the case for all. Digital literacy plays a crucial role in modern days and not everyone has access to proper understanding. The needs of technical understanding and an agile mindset towards technology is imperative
- The loss of sense of belonging: despite an extremely connected world, Youth have never been so ‘’disconnected’’ from themselves, society or the European values. By re-empowering the Youth, we’ll go from a grass root level (the youth) to a wider level (community, EU, the World)
- The requisite of critical thinking: Information, digital or not, flow endlessly and Youth are bathed in it since birth but often lack the knowledge and abilities to analyze it, to question it. By developing critical thinking, stimulate curiosity, opening the dialogue (as simple as questions and answers).
In order to achieve the goals, participants will attend a 9-days seminar, which will be held in Thessaloniki in, Greece. November2020 (dates to be confirmed). Coming back to their countries, the participants will act as multipliers and organize local workshops.
In these workshops, young people will:
- apply the acquired knowledge and skills gained during the seminar
- explore the problems of local community,
- disseminate the project results.

Furthermore, 5 months after the implementation of the mobility, one representative from each country will attend the follow-up meeting, in order to evaluate the project for its effectiveness and sustainability. The meeting will take place in Thessaloniki and during the meeting the participants will:

- Evaluate their personal progress with their involvement throughout the program.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the workshops, and the methods and tools used.
- Obtain space and time to organize new actions based on European strategy 2020.
- Create conditions for networking, and long-lasting and qualitative partnerships.

Before the implementation of the workshops the participants of each county will create a newsletter and a leaflet in English and their own language , which will be disseminated respecting the digital skills they have obtained during the seminar.

Both training course and the follow up meeting will be based on non-formal education methods. Different tools of NFE methodology such as: visual presentations, group work, group discussions, brainstorming, theatre games , role playing, study visits, case studies, group debates, simulation activities will serve the educational process. Training will be a flexible process, combining the theory with practice. It will encompass involvement, exchange of experience and good practices, taking into account the participants' needs and interests.
