This Project aims to harness the transformative potential of collaboration among young people to promote the workplace inclusion of individuals with disabilities.
As a result of the collaboration between young people with disabilities and those without, within the framework of the KA154 project "Uniting Passions: Equine-Assisted Therapy for All," a community of young individuals has emerged.
This group demonstrates the transformative potential of Erasmus+: raising awareness among 30 young participants aged 16 to 22 about the significant barriers faced by peers in their environment.
These barriers include social and relational challenges, which have been overcome by fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging for young people with disabilities (YPWD). Economic barriers also persist, as YPWD often lack the same opportunities as their peers to enter the workforce and take initial steps toward financial independence.
In this context, a broad group of young people, in collaboration with an educational organization and with support from a federation for people with physical and organic disabilities and a specialized education center, aims to launch a pilot initiative. This project has the potential to provide paid employment and personal and social adjustment services for individuals with disabilities.
The goal is to create a social economy platform to offer young people with disabilities the opportunity to work for themselves, in a safe environment. This initiative will be guided by the applicant organization and the resto of the members of the consortium.
This initiative aims to train young people, both with and without disabilities, to lead the development of a social enterprise that enables the real inclusion of YPWD in the labor market. In collaboration with supporting organizations, this project seeks to train participants and conduct a feasibility study to identify the best strategies for implementing this initiative in the real economy.
