Youth exchange to foster cultural dialogue and social inclusion of young migrants
The idea is to organize a one week meeting made of a series of seminars and outdoor activities (football games, concert, ethnic dinners) addressed to young people in schools and in common places where young people usually meet outside schools in order to raise awareness and stimulate critical judgment on the immigration phenomenon. The project should involve also young people with a migrant background including newly arrived migrants in order to foster their social inclusion within the educational environment. Peer activities will be fostered in order to make young people learn from each other.
The project envisage also to organize seminars for youth workers to set up a tool kit of methodologies and best practices helpful to make schools and teachers more inclusive for migrants especially those just arrived in the European countries. The main objective should be to foster counter narrations on migrants avoiding their stigmatization and making young europeans more aware of the condition of refugees coming from third countries.
The last day an international world cafè will be organized to make all the young participants talk to each other and compare their State’s behaviour toward migrants and to share experiences about the activities realized during the week.
