Education Pack: Let's Talk About Culture!

The project came to life in a period when tolerance and acceptance are to be the pillars on which the European Union needs to build on in order to deal with new migratory flows and a very distinctive cultural representation. The project is an innovative idea meant to provide an exchange between peer teams of young people from different countries who regularly meet online and send boxes of physical or virtual symbols, of representative identities and cultures. Youth teams from each of the participating countries will exchange by parcel post the ‘culture boxes’ containing at least ten items. By choosing the items to put in, they will learn about ‘how others see us’ and by explaining their choices they will try to tell their partners ‘how we see ourselves’. The boxes are to contain but are not limited to: items of clothes, jewelry, handmade objects from their home countries etc.
