About us:

Liberi Sogni, a non-profit organization based in Lombardy, northern Italy, invites like-minded partners to join us in our mission to promote biodiversity in both nature and human relationships. Since 2006, we have organized social, cultural, and environmental projects focused on education in nature, ecosystemic care, and the regeneration of personal and community well-being. Since 2012 we’ve hosted and sent Evs volunteers and organized youth exchanges for teenagers in deep connection with nature.

Project Concept:
Our project seeks to engage youth in a meaningful journey of exploration into nature and the non-human world in its diverse expressions. Through the observation and study of its forms, intricate relationships, languages, resilience, and the functioning of ecosystems, participants will be encouraged to rediscover the deep interconnections that sustain life. To ultimately reflect on what defines us as a species — the elements that unite us, those that distinguish us — and, above all, to elucidate our own identity in relation to this broader human condition
The knowledge and insights gained will be expressed and shared through the complementary lenses of science, art, body-and media technology.

Set in Cascina Rapello - an 18th century farmhouse surrounded by agricultural terraces and chestnut forests - our initiative matches outdoor activities with ecological education, activism, community-building, art and craft combined with digital communication.

We aim to:

Building an eco-community:
sharing knowledge to establish a community of ethical practices, promoting personal motivations and skills, formulating rules and agreements as essential conditions for engaging in a meaningful path towards learning, discovery and self empowerment. A group able to imagine supportive actions for Cascina Rapello and the local community.

In dialogue with nature: art and science:
engaging in observation and dialogue both within nature and in relationship with it, the group will be guided by experts with a scientific and ecopsychological approach, through experiences such as excursions, observing live animals, workshops, meditative and immersive walks.

Scientific and artistic presentation:
the group will create outputs that reflect elements of scientific observation and artistic reinterpretation they have experienced, experimenting with different languages and tools across both digital and analog mediums.

Our Objectives:
Encourage a deep connection between humans and the environment through outdoor activities.
Support self-discovery and collective well-being by promoting the languages of science, art and digital communication to explore nature more deeply.
Enhance community regeneration promoting youth participation.

Main information

The exchange will be at the end of August 22nd until 2nd of September in an equipped campsite in the woods surrounding Cascina Rapello (Airuno, LC, northern Italy)

The advance planning visit with the camp leader will be on a weekend in May, from friday to monday.

Max 7 Participants from 14 to 18 yo + 1 leader each, from 22 yo, with experience as leader in project with teenagers.

The programme will cover travel costs (max 309 eu to go and back for each participant), room and board.

We are seeking 3 partners who share our commitment to integrative outdoor education, science, art and digital communication. Together, we can create transformative experiences that enhance both human relationships and the ecosystems we inhabit.
