Eating Better, Together Symposium

Our goal is to use all the connections between the Mediterranean diet and environmental sustainability to explain how to do a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

It is estimated on average that to obtain 100 calories, the Mediterranean diet causes an impact of about 60% less than a North European or North American diet, based to a greater environmental extent on meat and animal fats, rather than on vegetables and cereals. In the same way and in an interconnected way with the need for climate change and sustainable development (as also suggested by the priorities of the Erasmus + program), the Mediterranean Diet represents the healthy and sustainable diet model par excellence. This
embodies the scientifically proven ability to bring benefits in terms of health,
of some cardiovascular diseases (cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity and some types of
tumors), and, at the same time, positive effects on the socio-cultural, economic and
environmental.

Our goal is to use all the interdisciplinary connections between the Mediterranean diet and environmental sustainability to explain to the young participants how to do a healthy and sustainable lifestyle both for themselves and for the environment also.

In particular we are looking for organizations with a focus on the fallowing topics:

- Eco-sustainability and Green policies

- Youth entrepreneurship / Social entrepreneurship / Female entrepreneurship and Employability;

- European Culture / European History

- Intercultural Dialogue.

Participants for organization: 3 (from 18 to 30 years old) + 1 group leader (25+) (4 person in total).

Venue: Castellammare di Stabia, Naples, Italy.

The program includes: non-formal activities, workshops, visits, practical sessions with youths, self-reflection groups, one-day final events, etc.
