E-motion

Forum Theater and Video-Art against xenophoby and migration problems

The aim of our organization – Associazione La Stazione - is to propose a project to be presented as part of Youth Mobility programme included in the Erasmus + guide.
The project takes shape in the need of greater integration and understanding between countries, which are still full of mutual prejudices , due to quick migration phenomena, often harbingers of personal disappointments and social risks that the economic crisis has often increased. The partner countries will be respectively 2 included in the European Union ( Italy and Croatia ) and two part of the eastern partnership (Moldova and Belarus).
The exchange will take place in Italy , in San Miniato ( in a charming hostel with kitchen and meeting room ) , a historic town in the Tuscan countryside , 40km from Florence. It will last for one week ( 6 nights ) and will take place in the second half of September (while the APV will take place at the end of August).
Each promoter should send 4 participants (18-25) + 1 group leader (no age limit).
During the exchange we would like to discuss - and try to overcome – some prejudices and clichés with expressive instruments and engaging , in which participation and sharing (ideas, concerns, suggestions, criticisms ) are key elements. And we'd like these tools to be in particular Forum Theatre and Video Art.
The Belarusian partners will carry out the introduction and facilitation in the activity of Forum Theatre, a highly appropriate tool in the management and resolution of this type of conflicts, thanks to a creative and informal approach, while the Moldavian , along with us, will occupy the second instrument , or visual art through video and viral spread on the web. A simple and straightforward type of visual communication, particularly for the youngsters, and deeply functional and contemporary.
The partners will work actively in the preparation of the program during all project phases.
The first activity will be a meeting with some immigrants from neighbouring countries partners ( Moldovan and Belarusian ) living in Italy , which - through the stories of their experiences - will offer very important insights to develop stories that will be discussed and represented both through theatre and video. The result will be a storytelling of problems, frustrations but also realized expectations, stories about nostalgy of orygin countries but also a future-oriented way of life, stories of people whose want to come back and stories of people whose want to stay.
On the sidelines of the project a blog will be set up, where we will collect the impressions of the participants, the accompanying documentation ( photos and video) of the initiative, the filming of theatrical performances and videos made by the participants.
In addition to activities closely related to the project there will also be two outlets, one in Florence and one in Siena, two beautiful cities no more than an hour from the place of execution of the project .
