Do not obstruct disabled young people

The topic of our project is sportive activities which are effective on socialising handicapped teenagers.

The most important reason on our choosing this project is the fact that, most of the deaf, orthopedically, visually, verbally, and mentally handicapped teenagers are becoming introverted and having a life distant from the social life.
12.29 % of people in our country are handicapped. 9.70% of these are ones who have chronic illnesses and %2.58 are deaf, orthopedically, visually, verbally or mentally handicapped. When we analyse how these handicapped individuals do their daily activities, 75.7% of deaf, 70.3% of visually handicapped, 61.2% of orthopedically handicapped and 54.5% of verbally handicapped people can survive without much or any support from the others. 84.2% of the handicapped people have a primary school degree. Those handicapped people who live not much dependent to others only do their daily activities but don’t have a big part in social life.
Our project is about the mobility of the people who work with teenagers. In our project there will be 14 people including managers, trainers, and PE teachers. The basic elements of our activities are sportive activities arranged for deaf, orthopedically, visually, and mentally handicapped teenagers.
Analysing the methods and techniques of sportive activities for orthopedically handicapped people like weight lifting, athletics, badminton,
Analysing the methods and techniques of sportive activities for visually handicapped people like goalball, judo, swimming, and athletics,
Analysing the methods and techniques of sportive activities for the deaf like judo and athletics,
Analysing the methods and techniques of sportive activities for mentally handicapped people like table tennis, swimming, and gymnastics,
These activities are going to be carried out in Bologna; the town of our partner Leggere Strutture Art Factory. These activities are scheduled in November of 2015. The methods to be used in sportive activities such as weight lifting, athletics, badminton, judo, swimming, and table tennis are learning by first theoretical education and then training practically (learning by doing and living). The host country is responsible for arranging and verifying sportive activities and the methods and techniques of these activities for handicapped teenagers. And we, the coordinator institution, and its local partner are responsible for taking this education in a planned schedule.
The main targets of Erasmusplus – such as increasing the capacity of meeting the needs of handicapped people, more motivation and satisfaction in daily activities, encouraging outdoor activities and public sports, thus helping the development of healthy life (which are means of supporting healthy life styles), supporting social inclusion for teenagers and helping them taking active parts in social life – are combined with the targets of our project. Our purpose in doing this project is studying how these sportive activities which are effective on socialising handicapped people are applied in the countries of our partners and then applying them in our country. Our priority is raising awareness by applying these learning outcomes in our town, and encouraging our handicapped teenagers to be a part of social life.
