Share experiences on "diversity and legality", with reference to identity, gender, advantages and disadvantages, language, rules, legislations and institutions.
The project aims to the development of young citizens, both male and female, aware of their national identity, open at the same time even to other identities in the logic of the integration, of the solidarity and of the inclusion. In synthesis, the project wants to give Italian young people, which bring their own values and culture in the common European House, the opportunity to acquire different experiences brought by Belgian young people. The Project will be realized both in Italy and Belgium: in particular the young people taking direct part to the project are based in Rome, c/o a school located in the north of the city, and in Belgium c/o (SPECIFY THE BELGIAN VENUE); furthermore, while in Belgium, the participants are going to visit the European Institutions buildings. The young participants will share their own experiences on the matters related to "diversity" in each national context, with particular reference to: identity, gender, culture, opportunities, advantages and disadvantages, language, rules, legislations and institutions. Furthermore the young participants are going to be stimulated at reflecting on the ways through which such diversities could be overrun and transformed into a new base in order to valorize the differences and find an integration modality between the national specificities and the common values of each country in the frame of Human Rights.
Objectives:
. knowledge of the national institutions, legislation and Constitution
. knowledge of different realities as far as history, legal framework, religion, language is concerned in Europe and abroad
. knowledge of the fundamental values of the EU
. knowledge of the principal communitaire policies and their importance for the Member States
. knowledge of the various european institutions and their operating activities
. awareness of their own cultural roots
. awareness of their own identity of european citizens
. respect of the culture and identities of others in the vision of the necessity to "valorize the differences" and find an integrating modality between the national specificities and the common basing values
. openness to plurality, civil dialog, exchange and collaboration
. respect for the legality seen as a guarantee of the civil co-livingness
The project will be realized through laboratories, conferences, meetings, roundtables and visits to the Institutions.
During the laboratories the participants are going to go deep in details on the concept of diversity, on the institutions of their own country, on the legal framework of their own country in connection to the scope of the project and with reference of the two countries involved.
During the conferences, meetings and roundtables, the participants are going to exchange between each other their experiences and the results of the laboratories.
Each group of participant is going to visit the other city in order to see the Institution buildings, the social environment and to touch the diversity and experience together the way in which such diversities could be reversed into positive values.
All the activities are going to be performed during the period May-July 2013 for a forecasted duration of around 90 days.
The projects aims to involve more than 50 young participants equally shared, as much as possible, between the two countries.
The group is still well motivated since the participants are well aware of the objectives: such awareness has been developed through some preparatory activities realized before the start of the project.
