Description of objectives
YE will promote growth of interpersonal, inter-cultural, social and cultural competences as well as will help to built up competence in cultural expression and entrepreneurship. Participants will learn how to responsible for their own learning and will evaluate results of their learning. Digital competence will be promoted by presenting idea of electronic Estonian citizenship and each participant will get possibility to become Estonia’s virtual citizen at venue`s computer class during the last day of YE.
The objective of promoting importance of healthy lifestyle and healthy food grown in pure natural environment is based on a fact that person who is aware of the importance of physical activity, knows why healthy eating is important will be happier and will have more strength to learn and deal with stressful situation on the everyday basis. Activities will be chosen not only to give platform to discuss importance of healthy lifestyle, but will give participants possibility of experiencing healthy habits (physical activity, healthy eating) and pure environment during outdoor activities.
The objective of spreading good practices and methods from environmental education and rural entrepreneurship will be met buy engaging professionals in the field from organiser Simuna Naisteklubi and local family farmers. Learning by doing workshops at the bakery, volunteering in the local village and on the farm will help participants to meet local people living and working in the countryside as well as learn about each other skills and abilities during peer-to-peer learning session and surviving outdoors workshops organised by partner countries.
Participants will learn through practice how to make bread, carpet from waste material and soap from organic products;
Activities (healthy lifestyle workshop I and II, volunteering, making bread and carpet, filming, surviving outdoors, orientation game, setting up a camp, relaxation) will provide young people (maybe first time in their lives) an opportunity to pass their knowledge during peer-to-pear learning sessions and informal learning with the help of experienced mentor.
Above mentioned activities will give young people space to decide about their own programme and experience teamwork (2 countries group will be responsible for their own workshops) and give young people platform to exchange knowledge and experience and increase the contact between local/national organisation on the European and non-European level.
Participants will get skills for survival outdoors (setting up a tent, orientation, fishing and preparing food outside).
Participants will teach each other new techniques and games and will get encouragement to practise them in their organisations in an attempt to improve the life of their community.
While choosing acitivites for YE organisers will take into consideration balance between different learning styles (VARK model) and will promote discussions and teamwork between the participants following Dale (1969) learning triangle. Each day two countries will be responsible for the organisation of the activities and cultural evening to promote leadership abilities , taking responsibility and inter-cultural cooperation. Each day during presentation of the day schedule participant will state personal learning goals for the day in the "personal learning diary" that will be evaluated individually each day 10 min before the start of the cultural evening. During the first two days of YE activities will promote participant`s interest towards each other to create basis for future cooperation and teamwork. Results of the brainstorming of healthy lifestyle will be written down for further reflection and evaluation of achieving goals of the YE on the last day of YE.
