Digital Innovation in Correctional Staff Training

The Ankara Personnel Education Center is a public training institution responsible for the professional and in-service training of correctional staff working in prisons across Türkiye.
Through a new Erasmus+ project, we want to explore how digital innovation and emerging technologies can contribute to correctional staff training. We are particularly interested in artificial intelligence, AR/VR, digital learning, simulation and other innovative approaches that can support education, rehabilitation and professional development in correctional settings.
Our aim is not simply to learn about specific technologies. We want to observe training models, staff development practices, rehabilitation approaches and innovative methods used in correctional systems in different countries, and understand how they are implemented in practice.
We are therefore looking for European organisations with experience in correctional education, adult education, digital learning, artificial intelligence, AR/VR, rehabilitation or innovative training. We are interested in study visits, on-site observation, job shadowing and opportunities to learn directly from professionals working in these fields.

We plan to analyse what we learn in relation to the needs of the Turkish correctional system and use this experience to develop our own training programmes, educational materials and practical training models.
We are also interested in how digital technologies can be used safely and effectively in educational and rehabilitation activities involving children, women, people with health-related or special needs, and other vulnerable groups in correctional settings.
The project is currently at an early stage of development. We are therefore looking for European organisations that are interested in sharing their experience, hosting study visits or job-shadowing activities, and contributing to the development of a practical and innovative project.
