Empowering youth through digital, artistic & intercultural skills, fostering Morocco–EU cooperation, and building a sustainable cultural network.
Digital Cultural Bridges is a cross-border Erasmus+ project that aims to empower young people from Morocco and Europe through creative encounters combining arts, heritage, and digital innovation. The initiative addresses the lack of opportunities for youth in marginalized areas such as the Rif and Al Hoceima, while fostering intercultural dialogue and dismantling stereotypes between Mediterranean and European youth.
The project brings together 60 young participants (30 Moroccan, 30 European from Poland, Portugal, and Italy) and 10 trainers/facilitators. Activities include training in digital media and visual arts, international workshops, and the co-creation of artistic and storytelling outputs.
The methodology, called Digital Twiza (inspired by the Amazigh tradition of solidarity), promotes collaborative learning through digital platforms, collective storytelling, and artistic expression. Participants will engage in mobility exchanges: Italy (arts and architecture), Portugal (Andalusian heritage and music), Poland (digital arts and technologies), and Morocco (heritage and cultural diversity).
Expected tangible results include: 15 multilingual digital stories, 10 short films (3–5 minutes), a small traveling art exhibition, a digital exchange platform, and a practical guide on using arts in non-formal education. Indirectly, over 1,000 young people and several local associations, schools, and cultural institutions will benefit.
The project will strengthen digital, artistic, and intercultural skills of participants, build a sustainable youth network, and create new opportunities for cooperation between Morocco and European partners. In the long term, it seeks to position Morocco as a hub for cultural and artistic dialogue in the Mediterranean, empowering youth as leaders of intercultural exchange.
