Digital challenges for empowered communities

Small-Scale Partnerships - Digital challenges for empowered communities

Society is immersed in a growing digitalisation that affects all areas of daily life (employment, consumption, health, social relations, etc.). In this sense, the digital divide has become one of the great challenges of social inclusion for the older generations as well as for people at risk of social exclusion. It is a fact that the progressive ageing of the population in most European countries is becoming increasingly important in society.
The acquisition of digital skills allows, among other things, greater autonomy in day-to-day activities and represents the path towards a more inclusive and egalitarian society. Thus, in order to guarantee the social inclusion of the elderly and other disadvantaged groups on digitalisation in our society, the digital divide must be reduced, both by raising awareness and involvement of the general population and by adapting and understanding the needs of the social groups faced by these groups.

The different generations that make up our society have very different characteristics, with weaknesses specific to each group, but also strengths. In this case, the elderly and other groups have a digital weakness, but on the other hand, young people have this strength. Thus, in a communitarian and cooperative way, a fairer and more egalitarian society can be achieved, and synergies can be fostered that mutually feed back to all social groups by working through the promotion of strengths. In this sense, the awareness of young people can be a fundamental key at the community level, as members of society that they can contribute in their daily lives to their neighbours, family and peers. That is why we have created the project "Digital challenges for empowered communities".

Our goles will be:
Identify digital areas that present significant challenges for the older or digitally discriminated population.
Raise awareness among young people about their key role in digital inclusion in the community environment for a more equal society.
Raise awareness of the importance of digital inequality and inclusion in general.

We are looking for partners with experiencie for the training and dissemination campaign
