DIFFERENT EYES, THE SAME SOULS

DIFFERENT EYES, THE SAME SOULS ” is a project about the Roma culture of the European countries, rediscovered and put in practice with an innovating spirit by the young generation. This youth exchange will be promoted and hosted by AMMP and it will take place at Regione Piemonte, during 8 days (2-9 August 2013) with the participation of 30 girls and boys equally distributed, many of them with fewer opportunities . An important contribution to the project will be offered by the local and regional authorities from Turin, Italy.The general objective is : to promote young people’s active citizenship in general and their European citizenship in particular. The specific objectives of our project are: to learn more about the Roma culture, to use the non-formal training in teaching the Roma youngsters, to understand the needs of Roma people, to learn to each other through active participation, joint activities of common interests, to develop the sense of initiative, self-esteem and entrepreneurial creativity in actions involving youngsters.The project will focus on one theme: changing the mentality of the people regarding the Roma community. On the other hand it will rise the European awareness promoting the inclusion and the international collaboration between young peer through the diversity of their knowledge, sharing values of solidarity, intercultural tolerance and dialogue, developing their skills and competences. The activities concern interactive teaching lessons about the painting, dancing, building the musical instruments, singing and the traditions of the participant countries. The method "See, Judge and Act" the participants will be engaged in activities based on non-formal and informal learning like icebreakers, workshops, round table, debates, oral presentations. The media methods will ensure high visibility and future follow up actions between the countries from Europe in the field of the Youth in Action.
