Democracy Transformed through Youth Participation - KA154 Project

Democracy is a concept with profound meaning, encompassing the fundamental rights and freedoms of all people. Yet, its interpretation and practice vary significantly across countries. The central focus of our project is the active role of people—particularly young individuals, who are the architects of our future.

Current data on youth populations indicate that many countries face notable challenges in democratic participation. Studies conducted among individuals aged 18–30 consistently highlight limited engagement, declining trust in institutions, and gaps in civic empowerment. These findings reveal an urgent need to strengthen young people’s involvement in democratic life and to support mechanisms that amplify their voices.

Our project aims to address these issues by empowering youth, enhancing their understanding of democratic processes, and creating inclusive platforms where they can contribute meaningfully to policymaking and civic life.
