Democracy: gates to gender equality

- Prologue
Previous projects Naughty Cheese was involved in, both as a sending and hosting organisation, brought us to the point, when a big part of our volunteers become interested in Human Rights, tolerance promotion and equal opportunities.

The common discussion broad us to the point, where we decided to explore those values in depth. That is how the project about gender equality and democracy was born.

- Objectives and themes that project is going to explore
Realities of gender equality and gender policies in Europe and other regions. What are the roles of young people?
Women rights vs. Human rights.
Gender equality as a part of democracy.
Gender vs. Sex.
Equal opportunities, tolerance and human rights education.

- Methodology
Each partner organisation sends 3 representatives. The approach of the TC will thus be very collaborative, and include elements of training course, seminar and partnership-building activity.

The participants will have the opportunity to have an in-depth look at their current practices, needs and developments and quality time for introspection and reflection. They will learn how to work within their communities and how to use different tools and techniques.

- Activities
Among the other activities, during the Training we will use Forum theatre, so called experiential learning methods (outdoor and indoor activities), simulation and role games, sharing and self reflection (feedback groups, recording and video analyses), traditional workshops and discussions.

During the project we will visit the local council to learn about the gender equality in the local community.
