dance for all seminar

training of trainer (ToT) project for the inclusion of dance with the participation of mixed ability groups. (persons with and without physsical dissability)

Tyrtaios Sports Club for the disabled, wishes to implement a training of trainer (ToT) project for the inclusion of dance in cultural exchanges with the participation of mixed ability groups. We feel the need to disseminate the experience gained and the best practices implemented in the previous projects, to other youth trainers of organizations and youth groups not related with disablism. The aim of the proposed project is to give tools to youth trainers and facilitators to run cultural projects with the participation of youths with disabilities. Dance is not only a cultural element included in the majority of the youth cultural exchanges, but also a way of expression for youths, a way to increase self-confidence and self-awareness, to develop positive interpersonal interaction, to improve muscle coordination and balance etc.
30 Youth trainers from the partner organizations will attend a 5 days training course in Athens. Tyrtaios trainers will give the participants new tools for dancing activities in a youth project, adapting methods, accessible events and preparation of the hosting team for an international mixed-ability project
