Showing the youth of Europe, what is all about restoration and why is it important to know about it
We are looking for partner organisations for our upcoming Erasmus+ KA154 Youth Participation Activities project on architectural restoration and cultural heritage.
The project sets out to answer a set of questions that are often overlooked: why is restoration carried out, when should it be carried out, and just as importantly when and why should it not be.
Before bringing these questions to decision-makers, our participants will first attend ICARCH 2027, the 21st International Conference on Architectural Restoration and Cultural Heritage, held on April 8-9, 2027 in Venice, Italy, to build a solid understanding of current thinking and practice in the field.
After the conference, we will locate an active restoration site and arrange a visit where participants can meet the professionals and officials working there in person, observe the restoration process up close, and raise the questions they have been carrying since Venice.
With everything gathered from the conference and the site visit, participants will then sit down with local city officials to share what they have learned and ask the questions that matter most to them, opening a direct line between young people and the people who make restoration decisions in their own cities.
To see whether any of this actually changes how participants think, we will run a survey before the project starts and again once it ends, comparing the two to measure its impact.
If this sounds like something your organisation would like to be part of, we would be glad to hear from you.
