Cultural Dialogue: Reframing Europe

"Cultural Dialogue: Reframing Europe" empowers youth through film, storytelling, and intercultural exchange, fostering media literacy and European identity.

Cultural Dialogue: Reframing Europe is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange that empowers young people through film, storytelling, and intercultural dialogue. By combining creative expression with critical reflection, the project helps participants explore cultural diversity, challenge stereotypes, and develop media literacy skills. Through a unique format of national and international filmmaking workshops, young people will reinterpret everyday social situations from different cultural perspectives, fostering mutual understanding and a stronger sense of European identity.

Objectives

Enhance intercultural dialogue: Participants will first work in national teams to create short films reflecting their cultural perspectives on common social situations. Later, they will collaborate in mixed international teams to reinterpret the same situations through a broader European lens.
Develop creative and media literacy skills: Through hands-on training in storytelling, scriptwriting, directing, and editing, young people will gain practical filmmaking experience while learning to critically analyze media narratives.
Encourage youth participation in cultural production: The project places young people at the center of artistic creation, inspiring them to continue engaging in cultural initiatives and media projects beyond the exchange.
Strengthen inclusion, diversity, and European identity: By bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds, the project fosters an inclusive space for cultural exchange and dialogue.

Activities

National Filmmaking Workshops: Participants collaborate in national teams to create short films in their native languages, reflecting their unique cultural perspectives.
International Filmmaking Workshops: Mixed teams reimagine the same situations from a multicultural European perspective, integrating diverse narratives into new creative works.
Film Screenings & Discussions: The final short films will be showcased in public screenings, cultural centers, and online platforms to engage wider audiences.
Workshops on Media Literacy & Storytelling: Sessions on analyzing cultural narratives, media representation, and creative storytelling techniques.

Expected Results & Impact

A series of short films exploring cultural perspectives, available for public screenings and online dissemination.
Youthpass certification recognizing participants' learning in media literacy, storytelling, and intercultural competence.
A practical guide for youth workers on using film and storytelling in non-formal education.
Strengthened international networks between young filmmakers, youth organizations, and cultural institutions.
Increased awareness of Eastern European cultural narratives in the broader European discourse.

Through Cultural Dialogue: Reframing Europe, participants will leave with new creative skills, deeper intercultural awareness, and the confidence to use storytelling as a tool for cultural dialogue. By fostering critical engagement with media and promoting European values of inclusion and diversity, the project contributes to a more connected and culturally literate generation of young Europeans.
