Creation of Solidarity through Youth Effort and Social Awareness Project

Introduction of a donation program which later would lead to the creation a public policy

As the coming decades offering more and more technologically advanced means of communication, it is widely accepted that people are getting more and more distant from each other socially. Therefore, as a reflection of this fact, the youth is facing a great alienation from the society and becoming less and less aware of the social construct of the society. As a result, for larger parts of the young people, it becomes difficult to fit into the society and taking part in economical and social life of the society comes with a greater cost to the society itself. In the face of the huge migrant influx, a properly functioning society with the migrants becomes a challenge.
By considering the facts above, the objectives of the projects are created as the following:
1 – Encouraging youth to take more part in the social affairs by initiating the social policy about the social affairs and creating alternative solutions to the social problems.
2 - Intergenerational solidarity shall be promoted through the effort of the youth. Especially, by creating a link of good will and sharing between the society who have and also who are composed of midage to old in the age structure of the society, and the part of the society who have not, who also are belong to the different groups in the age structure.
3 - Increasing the social responsibility of the young participants through promotion of a habitual behavior of giving and sharing among the society through voluntary youth effort. The donors shall be asked to provide the extra clothing, shoes, toys, books and other unused stuff in their holdings and after cleaning and repairing, the collected material shall be distributed to the needy. The young participants shall be asked to go door to door for the donations. By the introduction of the young generations to this project, the values of the voluntary activities shall be cherished by the young participants.
4- To be able to establish a solidarity link between the different parts of the society by connecting the parts of the society (migrants as well) who have and who have not. The young participants shall be exposed to different parts of the society through face to face communication to all of them who donate and who are the recipient of the donations. Therefore, the participants shall acquire the feelings of the people with varying economical and social background and develop a sense of social responsibility. In the end, the culture of sharing amongst the young participants of the project is seeded and it is spread to a wide spectrum of the society with varying social and economical backgrounds.
The target group of this project is people of young age with different cultural, economical and social background. There isn't any criteria in the selection of the young volunteers except for their age, which is already imposed by the project acceptance criteria. The focus shall be on the development of the active citizenship of the young participants, creation of the awareness among the young about the different parts of the society and their needs, creation of the solidarity among the participants.
The transnationality of this project is so much important and integral part of the project in that, the understanding of the sharing, active citizenship, social awareness in different cultures must be known by others so that improvements in these aspects shall be achieved. Every culture has a different approach to the problems of social awareness, active citizenship and sharing. Therefore, considering the fact that young people are more open to the new ideas and different solutions to the different problems, bringing young people from many different countries would definitely improve the young participants approaches to the problems mentioned.
The project activities shall be similiar for all the transnational partners eventhough the circumstances might change from one country to the other. In other words, the main aim of creation of a public policy throughout the local public bodies shall be the the same for all partners. As one of the project outputs, a booklet shall be published about the circumstances and difficulties faced by the project partners
