CONTACTS SEMINAR
18/22 November 2013 – Brittany (France)

Seminar’s objectives:
• Set up successful partnerships to build projects within the “Youth in Action programme” (European Union) and the “Young partners in Europe” programme (Regional Council of Brittany).
• Bring new knowledge to the participants about mobility programs/and grants available (Youth in Action program/ OFAJ program/ Region’s grants…)
• Simulate projects/start projects that could be done within two years
• Offer the participants’ the possibility to live an international meeting themselves

Participants : 50 persons
- 14 participants from France (Brittany)
- 10 participants from Wales
- 11 participants from Germany (Sachsen)
- 10 participants from Poland (Wielkopolska)
The participants and professionals come from the public sphere or from non-governmental organizations and are in charge of implementing international and intercultural projects for/with the young people of their communities.

The team will be composed of 2 trainers/facilitators and 3 trainers/interpreters. Some others speakers/trainers will be invited for special workshops.

Practical arrangements :
This seminar will take place from the 18th to the 22th of November. The participants will arrive on the Monday night and leave on the Friday morning. The program of activities will start by an arrival meeting on the Monday night and go on during 3 complete days. The seminar will take place in Brittany, in Rennes. The youth hostel of Rennes will welcome us and we will use the rooms of this same hostel. The participants will share the rooms (2 participants per room).

The schedule :
- A limited number of plenary sessions for very special moments: welcoming/general information/evaluations…
- A partners’ market : special time to present one’s organizations in an interactive way, the supports used will be displayed during the 3 days in the showroom.
- “a la carte” workshops (make your own schedule) : on the different programs and grants you can access to realize your mobility projects.
- “a la carte” workshops (make your own schedule) : to discover specific intercultural and linguistic tools.
- Some informal time to make sure you will meet the partners’ you need for your further projects.
- Some informal/cultural activities (intercultural night, tourism visits, free evenings …)

Participation Fees :
The participation fee will be 50 euros for the 3 days/4 nights. The participant will have to pay for 30% of the travel costs.

Seminar’s language :
Polish, German,English and French interpretes will be here during the seminar, so there’s no need to speak English to participate.

Deadline for the application :
1st of May for the Polish and Welsh promoters.

Role of the promoters :
The promoters will be in charge of communicating about the project in his own region and finding 9 participants, representing public sector or non-profit organizations.
The promoters will not be in charge of the organizations, the pedagogical contents and the financial parts. Gwennili will assume all these parts.

A few words about Gwennili’s experience in intercultural projects :
Gwennili is an association located in the south of Brittany, a remote region, which shares no borders with other European countries.
Since 1998, we aim at creating connections between young people from here and there and at leading local projects in an international context.
We want to offer young people the possibility at understanding better social, political and economic realities different from those with which they are usually confronted. We hold the opinion that experiencing Europe is a key to improving our mutual understanding.
We are organising more than 20 youth exchanges each year, and are sending and following-up almost 8 volunteers each years.
