FOOD SECURITY

What is food security?
What to do in order to be food secure?

ü Growing of crops for example banana, potatoes, beans, maize, cassava and millet among others.

ü Rearing quick maturing animals for example pigs and local chicken

Establishing and management of the above items.
Harvesting and storing of the above food items.
For Beneficiaries who are in town elementary commercial skills should be taught to them like stall in markets and canteens

FARMERS ORIENTATION TO MARKET

To produce goods in big quantities but of high quality.
Should do be thought how to keep records. Here income and expenditure, records should be encouraged.

Environment

What is environment?
How to protect the environment?

HYGIENE AND SANITATION

Mostly in their homes
Should have pit latrines
Raised stand
Clean compound
Barth rooms
Kitchen with all components

INTRODUCTION TO GENDER ISSUES

LEARNING ACTIVITIES

Demonstrations
Visiting sites
Participatory approach to all issues
Video shows on farming.

We want to host 30 Students because it is a big load and we shall group them,

Team work is applied in the all duties. Volunteers rotate tasks. Depending on the skills the volunteers have, they may be also be supervisors of some activities
