Colours of the Forest

The subject is the diversity of natural cultural heritage. We will learn how to protect and use forests, develop attitudes of openness and understanding.

The subject of the exchange is the diversity of natural cultural heritage in both countries. with particular emphasis on forests. The main goal of the project is to strengthen cooperation between Poland and Lithuania and build an attitude of tolerance based on cognition and appreciation of the value of the common natural environment. Participants will learn how to protect and use forests, preserving their original character. During joint work they will develop attitudes of openness and understanding of other people. They will acquire and deepen knowledge about the culture, customs and traditions of the exchange partner, overcoming the harassments and stereotypes associated with the perception of common history. We will learn about species protection, prepare a dictionary of forest terms and a photographic exhibition. We realize it through activities: 1) Photographic workshops - ”Forest from the perspective of its inhabitants”. 2) Art workshops ”Art-Forest”. 3) Culinary workshops ”Forest flavors” 4) Forest orienteering.
The project includes 36 volunteers who are interested in nature. The exchange will take place in Ruciane-Nida, in the heart of the Piska Forest, a place where nature is an integral part of the local community.
