COLOURS OF KİTE

For the last 10 years, Syrian refugees immigrate from their country because of economic and political problems. People’s social order break down because of this immigration. Because of that, especially some Syrian teenagers and children start to feel an outsider. Unfortunately, this feeling of outsider can cause addiction in the later periods of their life. This basic purpose of this project is to decrease the possibility of addiction among Syrians through the integration of Turkish and Syrian 6-14 years old children. Additionally, Turkish, Syrian children and guests from abroad will share their own culture and they can meet different cultures. This cultural transmission can make children more social and less addicted.
The project speaks to two different groups. One of them are volunteers (participants) and the other one is children (target group). It includes some trainings devoted to the main goal. In addition to it, it is planning the project to be rich about cultural interaction. The first 2 days are including the guests’ training and some activities for awareness and knowledge. And the following 2 days will include spending time together -guests and children. Some activities were planned. There will be some educational plays, making or painting traditional toys, tasting traditional foods and playing street games in this period. Volunteers and children are going to try other cultures tastes, and they are going to make in groups of integration their own different kites like their different colours. First day with kids will be in their school and second day there will be leisure activity with kids and barbeque. The last day, there is a surprise which is waiting for participants. The city sightseeing tour! However, this tour will be special for only volunteers.
The project outputs are integrated Syrian children with Turkish peers and to establish the friendship ties between them. The people of both nations will meet in a common denominator by tasting each other's traditional foods, playing their games and toys. And also, the guest who is different cultures will join that integration. Everyone will meet each other and can gain awareness to each other. These beautiful relationships will continue for life and Syrian children don't feel outsider and will stay away from all addictions by increasing their belonging to our country. In this project, children and guests will have a lot of fun with each other and they will meet more closely. They will learn each other's traditional games, foods, toys. Finally, they will make kites and paint the Turkish traditional toy (Topaç) as a concrete product of moving together.
