Collective Resilience through Collective Knowledge

Small-Scale Partnership ADU Our project seeks to promote local gastronomy as a means for social cohesion, resilience and rural development.

The cross-border territory of Portugal and Spain, in particular the area of the Arrebes del
Duero, shares the problems of depopulation, population ageing and the loss of the
cultural heritage gathered over centuries.
The gastronomy brings together historical means of production, festivities, local
products, the traditional recipe book as well as places today that try to continue
transmitting this knowledge through their dishes.
Thus, we understand that all this knowledge is at risk of being lost, although its
promotion can be used to vindicate these territories, giving them value and favouring
local, cultural and European identity.

General Objetive:

Promote the historical and regional gastronomic culture for the strengthening of social
cohesion, territorial resilience as well as economic and social development of the area.
