Climate Democracy Lab

Project concept

Climate change is no longer only an environmental issue; it is also a democratic challenge. Young people are increasingly willing to contribute to climate solutions but often have limited opportunities to participate in local decision-making.

Climate Democracy Lab aims to create meaningful spaces where young people, municipalities, decision-makers and civil society can work together to design practical local climate solutions.

The project will promote youth participation, democratic engagement and environmental responsibility through non-formal education and structured dialogue.

Planned activities
Local Climate Democracy Labs
Youth consultations and participatory workshops
Dialogue meetings with local and regional authorities
Co-design of local climate initiatives
Community campaigns led by young people
Exchange of good practices among partner organisations
Development of a practical participation toolkit
Dissemination of policy recommendations at local and European level
We are looking for organisations experienced in:
Youth participation
Democracy and civic engagement
Climate action and sustainability
Environmental education
Non-formal education
Community development
Cooperation with municipalities or public authorities

We especially welcome organisations working with young people with fewer opportunities and those interested in strengthening democratic participation through environmental action.

Our approach

This is not a pre-designed project. We are looking for partners who wish to actively contribute to the project's concept, activities and expected results from the very beginning.

Together we aim to build a strong European partnership that empowers young people to become active contributors to the green and democratic transition.
