Children’s Rights: Turning principles into practice

The project aims to support the professional development of youth workers in the field of child protection through a child rights-based approach.

The organizations who intend to join he partnership must complete the attached PIF (Partner Identification Form).

The project aims to support the professional development of youth workers in the field of child protection & development through non-formal education & a child rights-based approach. Through an intercultural & experiential learning process, youth workers & young leaders are equipped with knowledge, skills & practical tools to undertake a child rights analysis & co-design community based projects that contribute to fulfillment of children’s rights to participation, protection, survival & development.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE
To foster human development and protect human rights of vulnerable children and young people.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE
To enhance the socio-professional capacity of youth workers & young leaders to fulfil children’s rights to participation, protection, survival & development.

TARGET GROUPS
Youth workers, community leaders, educators, trainers, facilitators, young leaders, social workers, intercultural mediators that are engaged in community work with & for vulnerable children & young people.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
Participants will learn how:
- about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC);
- how to undertake a “child right based analysis” in order to identify the violation of children’s rights in
a targeted local community
- how to conduct community participatory research with children & youth leaders
- how to co-plan & design a theory of change & the intervention strategy addressing children rights.
