An artistic exchange connecting mainland and overseas Europeans in the Caribbean, fostering culture, arts, dialogue, shared identity, and solidarity.
The first part of the project will unfold in the Caraïbe, territories that are European by law yet profoundly Caribbean in spirit.
It seeks to build a genuine human bridge between mainland Europeans and overseas Europeans by fostering encounter, mobility, and artistic cooperation.
Through theatre workshops, performance, audiovisual creation, and participatory cultural practices, young people and cultural actors will share their stories, memories, and imaginaries, allowing a common awareness to emerge: that of a plural, hybrid, diasporic Europe one that often remains unaware of its own richness.
More than a simple exchange, the project functions as a sensitive laboratory, where identities are narrated, questioned, and celebrated.
Participants will experience art as a universal language, a space where differences do not dissolve, but converse.
Yet the initiative extends beyond stages and rehearsal rooms.
It is equally rooted in the living world.
An environmental and landscape dimension will invite participants to discover the ecological wealth of these territories primary forests, coastlines, mangroves, and tropical biodiversity reconnecting culture with nature. For to understand a people is also to contemplate the land that shapes them.
Exploratory walks, site-specific creations, open-air workshops, and moments of ecological awareness will cultivate a renewed sensitivity to the beauty of the world, revealing another facet of Europe: not merely institutional or geographic, but sensory, embodied, and organic.
The project therefore aims to:
— break down perceptions between center and periphery;
— highlight overseas cultural heritage;
— strengthen solidarity among European youth;
— raise awareness of environmental issues and ecosystem preservation;
— and use artistic creation as a tool for inclusion, empowerment, and active citizenship.
In essence, it is a poetic, political, and ecological journey:
to connect shores, honor roots, and learn to inhabit a shared horizon together.
If you wish, I can also craft a shorter, more institutional version tailored specifically for Erasmus+ or Creative Europe applications.
