TC youth workers in emotional intelligence and mindfulness techniques to enhance mental well-being, resilience, and inclusive non-formal education practices.
Training course project designed to equip youth workers with emotional intelligence (EI) skills to enrich their non-formal educational practices. In a world where young people increasingly face emotional challenges such as stress, anxiety, and social pressure, youth workers need to be able to recognize, understand, and support emotions—both their own and those of the young people they accompany.
The project is built around three core pillars:
Understanding Emotional Intelligence: Learning to identify and manage one’s own emotions and those of others through practical tools such as active listening and empathy.
Non-Formal Methods: Integrating emotional intelligence into interactive activities like role-playing, creative workshops, and guided discussions to engage young people authentically.
Inclusion and Social Impact: Using EI to create safe and inclusive spaces, especially for vulnerable or marginalized youth.
Aligned with Erasmus+ priorities such as inclusion, mental well-being, and capacity building for youth workers, the project also fosters intercultural exchange and the sharing of best practices across Europe.
Objectives
The main goal of Non-Formal Emotional Intelligence is to train youth workers to incorporate emotional intelligence into their activities, strengthening engagement, resilience, and well-being among the young people they support. Specific objectives include:
Mastering Emotional Intelligence: Equipping youth workers with skills to recognize, express, and regulate emotions, using tools like the emotion wheel and non-violent communication techniques.
Developing Educational Activities: Designing non-formal workshops that embed EI, such as collaborative games and narrative storytelling, to encourage emotional expression in youth.
Promoting Inclusion: Enabling youth workers to create environments where all young people—especially those with fewer opportunities—feel heard and valued.
Building a Collaborative Network: Encouraging the exchange of EI-based practices among youth workers from different countries to spread these approaches locally and throughout Europe.
At the end of the project, participants will be able to design and facilitate activities that enhance young people’s emotional skills, fostering personal development and active participation in their communities.
