Call for Lead aplicants - Youth direction

Through the Erasmus program, we are seeking partners to collaboratively plan and execute projects focused on youth empowerment and fostering civic awareness.

About Us

The Young Pedagogues’ Union (YPU) has been working since 1996 to improve mechanisms for protecting the social and educational rights and interests of vulnerable populations in Georgia. Our mission is to foster a society with strong civic awareness by encouraging individuals to participate actively in civic processes.
From 2020 to 2023, the organisation implemented 10 projects, with financial support and partnerships from organizations such as the European Union in Georgia, CENN, Bread for the World, CSRDG, USAID, SOS Children’s Villages, UNAG, OSGF, WECF, and UNDP.

Our Experience with Youth
YPU has over two decades of experience working with youth and adolescents to enhance their personal and civic knowledge and skills. Since 1996, the organization has operated the “School of Leaders,” a non-formal education centre. Our adolescent education framework is based on:
Providing information about democratic values.
Encouraging peer-to-peer dissemination of learned and internalized knowledge.
Engaging youth in civic monitoring and advocacy processes to drive meaningful change.
Under the youth component, we implement the “Ideas Lab” program in partnership with 12 public schools in the Guria region. This program fosters innovative spaces within schools, enabling adolescents to independently initiate and implement projects, design exciting initiatives, and understand their role in enriching school life.
Additionally, we ran a development program for youth aged 18+ living in rural areas, encouraging their participation in community development. We also managed a teaching and employment support centre program, which aimed to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for employment while facilitating communication between job seekers and employers.

Partnership Proposal
Our organization continuously strives to learn from European approaches and best practices while sharing our expertise. Through the Erasmus program, we are seeking partners to collaboratively plan and execute projects focused on youth empowerment and fostering civic awareness. Together, we aim to find structured ways to achieve common goals, leverage diverse perspectives, and create impactful initiatives by sharing resources and expertise.
Our key focus areas include climate change, gender, democratic and European values, active citizenship, and more. Additionally, we are interested in learning how resources are allocated among governmental, non-governmental, and business sectors in Europe.
