Call for Lead Aplicants - Social direction

As part of the Erasmus program, we seek lead aplicant to collaborate on planning and implementing projects to improve and introduce social policies and services

About Us:
The Young Pedagogues' Union (YPU) has been working since 1996 to enhance mechanisms for protecting the social and educational rights and interests of vulnerable groups in Georgia. Our mission focuses on fostering a society with strong civic awareness and encouraging individuals to participate actively in civic processes.

Between 2020 and 2023, the organisation implemented 10 projects and supported and partnered with various organisations, including the European Union in Georgia, CENN, Bread for the World, CSRDG, USAID, SOS Children’s Villages, UNAG, OSGF, WECF, and UNDP.

Activities
The organisation actively works to improve social protection policies in the country and the region. Through research, it assesses the social conditions of two target groups: individuals under the age of 18 and their families, as well as elderly citizens. Based on these assessments, and in collaboration with competent authorities, it advocates for policy changes in social protection.
The organisation supports the state in reforming the welfare sector for children and the elderly by introducing alternative social services. Specifically, in the Guria region, it administered two social services it established:
A "Small Family-Type Home" (2007–September 2018)
"Community Service for the Elderly" (2012–present)
The latter service is designed for individuals of retirement age, providing them with a peaceful and enjoyable living environment. It ensures a comfortable residential space and addresses their basic and psychosocial needs to enhance their quality of life in old age.

Partnership Proposal
As part of the Erasmus program, we seek partners to collaboratively plan and implement projects to improve and introduce social policies and services. Together, we aim to find structured approaches to achieving shared goals by utilizing diverse perspectives and creating impactful initiatives. We are committed to sharing resources and expertise.
We are interested in partnering with organizations with European approaches and experience promoting inclusivity and advocating for welfare. We aim to learn from European practices regarding allocating resources among governmental, non-governmental, and business sectors in delivering social services and fostering citizen engagement.
