Blue Economy Awareness: approaCHes for Employability and Solidarity

The project aims to give youth workers the skills to support young people in becoming actors in conserving the oceans while developing job skills.

Blue Economy is the sustainable use of oceans for economic growth, improved livelihoods, and
jobs while preserving the health of ocean ecosystems. The BEACHES project aims to give youth
workers the skills to support young people in becoming active actors in conserving the oceans,
while addressing the skills to work in this sector. The objectives of the project are:
1) Equip youth workers with the skills and knowledge related to blue economy and awareness
raising,
2) Address key competences for employability in the blue economy sector,
3) Foster active citizenship of young people and solidarity across Europe in a view of conservation
of a common good: the ocean.
Besides these three main objective, the project also aims to:
4) Raise awareness about the European migrant crisis, in particular regarding migrants travelling by
sea,
5) Support youth workers in sharing practices and effective methods in reaching out marginalised
young people.
The project will take place in November 2020 and will involve youth workers from different coastal
countries, to ensure geographical representation of the European oceans and seas.
Location of the activities: the mobility will take place in Abergele (North Wales).
