BIKEPLUS (Bike+) FOR İSTANBUL

General Purpose of the Project:
Bicycle which is healthy, environmentally friendly, economical, sustainable and transport-friendly features: The aim is producing social policies and facilitate / encourage the use of bicycles in order to ensure that place in social life, transportation, healthy life and sports activities in city life to apply people who are from 7th to 70th.

Expectations from Patners:
We are looking for partners who are working in the field of bicycle .

Goals of the Project :

1. To love bikers and to increase the use of bicycles.
2. Increase the safety of bicycle use.
3. Raise awareness of cyclists in traffic.
4. It will be a policy feature for all local authorities to include bicycle routes in city plans and other supplementary system requirements (bicycle parking spaces, bicycle cages, etc.) required by bicycle access schemes.
5. The aim is expanding convenient bicycle routes for bicycle trails builting throughout Istanbul with the "Guide to Cycling Roads in the City" prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning of the Republic of Turkey.
6. Increase activities to take part in city life with disabled bicycles

1. The social work carried out by France, England, Sweden, Denmark or Spain in order to promote the bicycle will be examined by a technical trip

2. A map of the bicycle routes in Istanbul will be prepared and distributed to participants using bicycles.

4. A mobile application will be made available to cyclists

5. Thanks to art, bicycles films will be exhibited every week at the open-air cinema event to people who are interested in cycling and cinema.

6. A safe cycling guide will be prepared, printed and distributed to schools

7. Documentary will be prepared about people who are young and using bicyles for their one day experience in traffic with the Gopro camera, which will be placed in their heads.

8. In order to increase the participation of disadvantaged and physically-challenged individuals (visually and orthopedically disabled people) in social life, the first Saturday of each month will be provided with tandem and specially equipped cycling tours with volunteer university students

9. At least 100 young bikers; Are going to take bicycle tours in Istanbul by wearing t-shirts containing messages about the positive aspects of the use of bicycles and the messages that motor vehicle users in traffic should pay attention to bicycle users.

10. By talking about the benefits of bicycle use (health, economy, environment), an infographic animation will be prepared and shown on the metro and metrobus screens to provide awareness

11. Bicycle, environment and a young photo competition and photo exhibition will be organized

12. A bicycle hero mascot work will be done and the mascot will visit the schools and provide safe cycling training in Turkish rap songs

13. A mountain bike tour will be completed starting from Belgrad Forest to be completed in Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Marmaracık Youth Camp. As a result of this round, 100 bicycle lovers will come together for 1 night and 2 days in a youth festival.

14. " You can repair your own bike yourself! " Practical workshop trainings on the subject will be organized so that young people can take simple trainings to take care of their bicycles and repair them

16. In order to encourage the healthy development of young people and encourage everyone to play sports in modern, fully-equipped and clean gyms, 100 units bicycle parking area will be provided in order to encourage students to do bicycle transportation from school to home and from school to school to gardens of the schools, where the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has made the construction and the School Sports Halls are located.

17. Free bicycles will be provided to young people who are requesting from a mobile bus (Pedalbüs) for a limited time of 2 hours which has a bicycle route in Istanbul but is not equipped with a bicycle sharing system and university campuses.
Results of the Project;
1. The awareness of people living in Istanbul on bicycle usage has been increased.
2. Within the scope of the project, 100,000 young people were provided with the direct guidance along with training, seminars, camping and other social events.
3. 150 secondary schools and 15,000 high school students are allowed to participate in safe cycling seminars.
4. Abroad technical visits have been made so that the observations can be presented in reports
