Coaching is defined as the most powerful method for personal and professional development. It’s a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires people to maximize their potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain and complex environment.
Better Start Coaching is a 6 days international training course with the aim to facilitate both personal and professional growth for youth workers who are involved or interested in coaching youth for improving their employment situation.
The main goal of this project is to train 18 active youth workers in coaching, so they would implement coaching method in their home organizations dealing with the problem of youth unemployment and develop their own youth employment programs.
The specific OBJECTIVES of our project are:
• To develop a common understanding of the term & actions of coaching according to ICF standards,
• To empower 18 youth-workers, facilitators or social workers to develop new programs for unemployed youth
• To be able to identify and improve knowledge, skills and attitudes for basic coaching;
• To be able to identify and apply tools for own learning as a coach (self-coaching practice);
• To explore the possibilities of implementing coaching in the home organizations by creating programmes for youth employment.
• To introduce and share good youth coaching practices to Erasmus+ program.

All the partner organization involved in this project should be open and willing to develop programs for youth employment in 2015. Therefore, the organizations should provide resources and support for the participants in order to implement the methods of training, by developing new programs for youth employment in their community.

For the above mentioned objectives to be achieved, we plan activities like:
• experiential learning
• coaching games
• one-to-one coaching sessions
• video playbacks simulations
• role playing
• reflections, feedback
• group discussions and interactive presentations
• photocoaching

Participant's profile:
• youth workers or volunteers willing to work with youth
• age over 18 years old
• Strong motivation and interest in youth employment topics
• Strong motivation to learn and practice coaching
• Ready to implement coaching in their everyday practice in home organizations and able to develop programs for youth employment
• Fluent in English
